Whether you’re still on the fence or a total convert it can’t be denied that face mists are having a moment.

They’ve gained a reputation in some circles for being an unnecessary step in a skin care regime, however, a single spritz can contain antioxidants to protect against pollution, probiotics to minimise irritation, salicylic acid to keep spots at bay, hydrate dry complexions and make this region’s humid climate a bit more bearable. In addition, face mists can be used as a post cleansing toner and are ideal for prepping skin for makeup.

Megan Larsen, founder of natural beauty brand Sodashi Skincare, extolled the benefits of misting saying: “You get to inhale the aromas immediately so they go straight into your limbic system, which sets off all of the mood responses. It’s also very hydrating for your skin. You can use it without makeup or over makeup, it doesn’t matter. It’s a beauty-wellness blend.”

We’ve compiled our top face mist picks to add to your kit.
