Located on the ground floor of the resort and designed with the end user’s experience in mind, the Nikki Spa is easy to navigate with a well-integrated flow and synergised spaces for a seamless guest experience.
The offering features no fuss yet results-driven treatments, including a selection of two hour long custom-made rituals designed to provide targeted solutions. There are nine treatment rooms in total, four for ladies, three for men, a couple’s room and a hammam.
The spa’s ambiance is set by an unconventional curated playlist comprising a blend of instrumental and vocal music to reflect the brand personality and the space concept. Cover versions, soundtracks and tracks by musicians across a varied selection of genres bring the brand’s story to life.
Nikki spa’s signature treatment is the hammam, a no nonsense top to toe scrub down done the traditional Moroccan or Turkish way. A nurturing experience that provides instant, visible and long lasting results. The treatment detoxifies the body inside and out leaving the skin incredibly smooth, nourished and regenerated. Guests walk out feeling purified, de-stressed and nurtured. Moroccan and Turkish baths can be combined with a half body or full body massage.
In keeping with the spa’s primary concept, there are six additional rituals: repair for sun drenched and environmentally damaged skin; retreat, a combination of chill-out therapies with stress busting results to rebalance equilibrium; revive to address jet lag and lack of sleep; refuel, an energy booster for guests who like to keep the candle burning at both ends; recover is post-party care to cleanse, detoxify and revitalize sluggish bodies, and revamp offers a selection of grooming treatments. More treatments are set to be introduced over the next six months.
Responsible for carrying out this vision is Nikki Spa director of spa and fitness Roberta Lindow who possesses over 20 years of experience in the hotel, beauty and spa industries across Malta, London, Spain and Dubai. A qualified beauty therapist, Lindow brings a wealth of professional knowledge and expertise encompassing conceptualisation and implementation of spa and health club operations, business performance optimisation and service excellence.
The resort was designed in collaboration with DSA Architects International with interiors by Gatserelia Design. The spa is design-centric with a minimalist theme. The aesthetic is inspired by nature and echoes this through the use of natural fabrics that have been incorporated for an organic effect. The project has been designed to reflect a relaxed timelessness with considerations to sustainability hence natural materials and textures were selected to complement the interior architecture. Floor to ceiling windows sliced into the walls around the spa provide views of the surrounding landscaping. Combining form and function, the treatment rooms feature Gharieni German-engineered hydraulic couches in white leather. The couch positions can be adjusted via a hand held remote control and feature built-in heating elements, while silicone-lined face cradles minimise pressure and indents on the face when guests are lying face down.
The reception area is home to the spa’s comprehensive retail offering. ESPA products feature heavily with extensive ranges for face and body, men and women and support the majority of the treatments on offer. Guests can also purchase Les Sens De Marrakech products. Made in Morocco, the range harnesses natural ingredients such as argan oil and is used by the spa’s therapists during hammam treatments. Nikki Spa also carries its own branded merchandise including customised lavender neck and eye pillows, hammam foutas, bespoke bathrobes, beach bags and flip-flops. The retail price point is accessible n order to enable every guest to extend their treatment experience at home.
