Luxury French skin care brand L’Occitane has launched a new shea butter balm to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March. Proceeds from the Solidarity Balm will go to women in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
The balm works to nourish and protect the skin all day, and 100% of profits will be donated to the L’Occitane Foundation that supports non-profit organisations that promote women’s leadership, education and entrepreneurship.
The L’Occitane Group has been working to improve the lives and working conditions of Burkinabe women for more than 30 years. The relationship between the L’Occitane Group and Burkina Faso started in the 1980s, when founder Olivier Baussan, discovered the properties of shea butter during a trip to the country. Since then, the company has been working with the women in Burkina Faso with the objective of sustainable growth and development for both parties.
